This last week there was a high tide warning for the North Shore - with warning of waves getting up to 30ft. in height! So we fired up our "car" (which barely made it up the steep roads) and drove up the mountain to feast our eyes on these monsters. We were standing on these beautiful cliffs at least 80ft. high, looking straight down on the water, and as the waves crashed in the spray was reaching our eye level. Katy was a little timid at first to get too close to the edge, but after about 35 mins of watching the most powerful show we have ever seen, it was Kristian having to retreat because of an onset of nausea (what a baby).
In other news, it appears that we will both be accepting positions with the Kapalua Land Co. to work at two separate pro-shops on two of their three golf courses. Katy will be on the premier "Plantation" course where the Mercedes championship is played in January - Tiger, Vijay, and Katy will all be in attendance! We get several sets of "country club appropriate" uniforms each quarter and free golf and tennis! If anyone wants to come over and play a round with us, it will only set you back $290 (cue vomit sounds). Check out our cool new resort employer at http://www.kapaluamaui.com
We found a great little church called Nu 'Oli which has a Thurs. night Bible study where the pastor cooks chili and rice for everyone! (Katy is all about a church were you get a return on your tithe). It is really fun, and besides one high school kid, we are the youngest ones. But there are several young couples like us, and we get to meet on Tues. nights for a "couples study"; it has all been really cool and we feel very blessed.
Sunday will be surfing lesson day,
